The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party of Vula, Gazment Bardhi, requests that SPAK investigate the procedures for granting permits for towers and resorts.

In a post on the social network, Facebook, he states that for a period of 2 years in Albania, 1.6 million euros were laundered in the construction sector.

Bardhi accuses Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj, stating that both are partners in laundering the money of crime and corruption.

"As one of the deputies who have repeatedly raised my voice and brought facts to denounce the involvement of the government and the municipality in the business of money laundering through high-rise towers, I repeat the call for SPAK to show that it is stronger than political corruption and that organized crime", the MP underlines.

There is an account of specialized institutions that in a period of 2 years, 1.6 billion euros are cleared in the construction sector in Albania. Can this happen without the knowledge of the 2 people who give the main building permits, Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj? The answer is: No, never! Anyone who orients the debate, ignoring this fact, serves dirty money.
We have maintained this position as a parliamentary group, even in July, when the initiative of colleague Jorida Tabaku to improve the law against money laundering was discussed. There is no doubt that those who are partners in laundering the money of crime and corruption cannot accept the action of the law against them. Therefore, we are today the place where the government, the municipality, the corrupt and the drug traffickers are partners among themselves with construction permits and money laundering.
As one of the deputies who have repeatedly raised my voice and brought facts to denounce the involvement of the government and the municipality in the business of money laundering through high-rise towers, I repeat the call for SPAK to show that it is stronger than political corruption and crime organized.
2 years ago, SPAK opened an investigation, after the interceptions of the Italian Antimafia revealed that construction permits in Tirana are not only bought with dirty money, but the construction of towers, with the signature of Rama and Veliaj, serves to clean up organized crime money. Albanian citizens have the right to know what is being done with this investigation. The silence of the Prosecutor General and SPAK does not serve the public interest. The start of the construction of the highest tower in the Balkans in the center of Tirana, occupying another green space, has made necessary the intervention of justice to investigate the procedures for obtaining the permit, the real owners, as well as the sources of financing. And not only for this occasion. Any similar permit in Tirana and on the coast of Albania should be investigated.
