The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has reacted regarding the debate on the construction of the "Mountain of Tirana" tower behind the National Theater of Opera and Ballet.

Veliaj said in a TV appearance that the debate about the tower is heated, as he pointed out that the competition was broadcast live.

"Today it is much more difficult to make a decision to expropriate 20 thousand m2, which costs 20 million euros; it is up to you to remove the city's investments for 1 or 2 years. This does not hold. For clarification, the area that was given for construction in the pit of Hajdin Sejdi was maintained by the Municipality of Tirana for aesthetic effect, until there was another decision-making.
