In Boville, the first phase of the works for the water processing plant has been completed and the second and final phase is also being carried out, which will bring the plant to its maximum production, at 3600 l/s.

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that this is the work that has undergone the greatest transformation, since Tirana, which is growing every day, has needed such an investment for years.

"These are the days of August, when people are focused on vacations, while the few who have stayed in Tirana are even more sensitive to the issue of water, so I thought it would be a good idea for the citizens to see with their own eyes what is happening in the largest plant and with the work that has undergone the greatest transformation in the 103-year history of Tirana, the capital. Tirana has needed such a work for years, so this is a moment not to look back and say why it wasn't done all those years, but to see the city that we have in the background. Here we are on the hill of Paskuqani, while the city in the background is a growing and developing Tirana. The silhouettes of the towers and the endless upscale neighborhoods of Tirana can be seen. This means that we will have to keep up with the growing city", he declared.

Veliaj also underlined the fact that due to a situation of large losses in the water theft network, the amount of water that goes to the taps of families in the capital is tripling.

"I am glad that, from a plant where most of the water was stolen and practically, instead of the water going in the direction of Tirana, it went in the direction of Paskuqan, or to those who took the water to wash, today we are in a completely different situation. Practically, we have an impenetrable, unbroken dedicated line that has eliminated network losses. The dedicated arrival of water, without any loss, gives us the opportunity to now have the largest deposits that Tirana has ever had. Just to give an idea to those who understand little about volumetrics, we found it with 1200 m3 of water/second many years ago, we went to 1800, to 2400 and we will finish with 3600 m3 of water/second.
