DP demands the resignation of Blendi Gonxhe: He continues to be the owner of a
Blendi Gonxha

The Spokesperson for Anti-Corruption in the Democratic Party, Genta Vangjeli, denounced today from the blue seat that Blendi Gonxhja, the new Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, has taken and remains in office in violation of the law. The Democratic Party demands the resignation of Blendi Gonxhe from the position of minister.

She emphasized that Minister Blendi Gonxhe violates the law, he continues to be the owner of his private company. Vangjeli declares that Gonxja, before assuming the office of minister, should have either self-excluded from the commercial society or refused the state office.

"The Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister and the Deputy Minister: b) cannot exercise private activity that generates income in the form of a natural commercial person, a partnership of natural commercial persons of any form c) cannot actively own shares or parts of the capital of a commercial company, regardless of its field of activity", she said.

Full statement:

Blendi Gonxhja, the new Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, took over and remains in office in violation of the law. On January 12, 2024, the President of the Republic decreed Blendi Gonxhe minister, pleasing the Prime Minister, but ignoring the law. According to the extract issued by the CKB on January 19, 2024, the commercial entity Albarent shpk with active status continues to have the citizen minister Blendi Gonxhja as the owner with 100% of the capital.

What, as the minister, as his boss Rama, but also the President ignore or act as if they do not know, is the law which clearly states in article 27, point B and C. It is about the law No. 9367 ON THE PREVENTION OF CONFLICT OF INTERESTS IN THE EXERCISE OF PUBLIC FUNCTIONS. This law specifically reads:

The Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister and the Deputy Minister: b) cannot exercise private activity that generates income in the form of a natural commercial person, a partnership of natural commercial persons of any form c) cannot actively own shares or parts of the capital of a commercial company, regardless of its field of activity.

Under these conditions, the Democratic Party and I believe every responsible citizen asks the question:

How can the owner of the commercial company Albarent shpk exercise the high state office of the minister?

Is he in conflict of interest?

Will he use the position to favor his company through concessions, tenders, etc.?

Why has the law been ignored by the prime minister, the president and the minister himself? Where do they find this arrogance and strength that makes them see the law as if it were office furniture?

Blendi Gonxhja, before assuming the office of minister, should have either self-excluded from the commercial society or refused the state office...

One or the other.

But Mr. Gonxja and Rama's ministers are used to having one hand in the cake and the other in the pie.

They need to steal money so that they can then use it to steal the elections and even come out and say that they have won with votes.

Blendi Gonxja should not have been appointed by the Prime Minister, should not have been decreed by the President.

Blendi Gonxhja, must immediately resign from public office..../ CNA
