Balluku said that during the Ministerial, all the regulatory measures that need to be taken were discussed, with the support of the Energy Secretariat, initiatives that start from renewable energy, to nuclear energy, but also gas, where the European Union will support countries in these initiatives. .

"I presented all the achievements of the Republic of Albania in the energy field, especially in 2023, where we had a number of them. The year 2024 has started with an important step in terms of resource diversification and I have shared with all my colleagues how Albania has already engaged 1 gigawatt in renewable energy through transparent auctions that we are implementing in our country. of course with the support of our European Union partners or even European banks", said Balluku.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy also focused on projects related to interconnection lines.

"These capacities, which are rising day by day, need interconnection. An interconnection that is already going to another level. Albania has started work on the energy interconnection project with North Macedonia. On the other hand, Albania is working closely to start the project with Greece to double the transmission line and in the meantime, I have also shared with my colleagues, and the good news that together with the Italian Transmission Operator, the Albanian Transmission Operator is starting a feasibility study regarding the underwater line that will connect Albania and Italy", underlined Balluku.
