"The Bargain Continues"/ Former President Raises Doubts About a Pact

Former President Bamir Topi has raised doubts about a pact between DP leader Sali Berisha and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Invited to the show "Kjo Javë", former president Topi commented on how the votes of the SP and DP representatives in the KAS joined to reject the requests for a recount of votes.

For Topi, this decision is a bargain between Rama and Berisha.

"I want to explain, but I'm afraid I won't be understood. Some understand. Here is the issue of a dominant. Who is the dominant? So, what is the dominant, the program, the political life of a party, or the dominant of what these two have cooked up? Choose the name of a world-famous personality, bring it to Albania to enter the elections with this electoral code, be sure that he will leave ashamed. So, not these two, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha are aware of what they have done. You saw what happened yesterday to make the story more concrete, some voices coming from the DP demanding a re-reading of the result, were practically defeated by joint votes of the SP and the DP in the KAS. So, the bargain continues. If it were the title of an editorial to give the physiognomy of the elections, it would be: "The bargain continues"! And when the bargain continues and someone is in the 4th mandate and someone is in the next defeat, I say that this second one who is in "He welcomes defeat because he has taken over the opposition monopoly. Do you think he is desperate? That's why I say he is hypocritical," said Topi.

Topi has called Berisha's denunciations of manipulations in the May 11 elections hypocrisy.

"Hypocrisy. The whole leitmotif of this conversation when we talk about the opposition is the hypocrisy of the DP leader. If it were true, he would have been encouraged yesterday in the KAS to give voice to the deputies who complain about vote theft. The phenomenon of theft does not come only from the other party, but also from within. Hypocrisy must end. These public voices that emerge give people the opportunity to come to their senses, to come to their senses. But it does not go with any kind of analysis you make, in 35 years of constantly complaining after every election and before the elections saying that we will guarantee the vote. Who can we believe? Is this some promotional activity, a merchant who advertises a product and then runs away and disappears? No, this story does not go any further", said Topi./ CNA
