Former president analyzes: Democrats should finally end their relationship with

Former President Bamir Topi has made an analysis of the May 11 elections. According to him, the opposition should be very happy about the next defeat.

"They should be happy. And inside they feel happy," Topi said.

In a television interview, the former president said that the Democrats should finally end their spiritual and political relationship with Sali Berisha.

According to him, there is hypocrisy on Berisha's part in what he demonstrates in the days after the elections.

"There is an already confirmed hypocrisy of Sali Berisha for what he demonstrates in the days after the elections. Not in a personal sense, but there is a display of hypocrisy. The man who knew and perceived the result in a very realistic way is him. Here ends the belief that every person, democrat, free man in his choices, the gray part, moreover intellectuals, if they have a little sense of analysis, should definitively close the spiritual political relationship with Sali Berisha.

It's not a matter of a personal relationship, they are left behind, but I'm talking here about the public interest, the public interest is not just the day you vote, but the public interest is behind, whether you are politically represented or not, whether promises are fulfilled or not, whether trust in institutions is restored or not, is this a state of parties or of the individual...

While it should be, the political parties in Parliament build the state of everyone. The fact that Albanian society is divided, even into those who are divided into parts in almost equivalent elections, shows 2 things, firstly this system does not work and on the other hand it shows that this state is no longer of the citizens but is the state of political interests and people connected to politics.

Those who supported the majority are in the administration, they are at work. When the rest of them turn to the DP, “you left us on the streets”!, what does this mean: “you left us on the streets”?, it means that they have lost the confidence they had that with the arrival of the party they would return to work. So, this is what it has come to…”, said Topi./ CNA
