CNA has published documents that show that some artists who came out in support of the mayor Erion Veliaj, for the May 14 elections, received money from the Municipality of Tirana.

Among them is the rapper Rigels Rajku, known as Noizy, and the singer Ermal Meta, who received money from Veliaj for private and free concerts.

Prime Minister Edi Rama was asked this evening about the payments made by the Municipality of Tirana. Rama justified these payments, as he declared that all over the planet singers are paid to do concerts.

"As in every capital of the world, the Municipality of Tirana also provides funds to hold a concert. The one who does this concert is a singer and fills the square with all the youth. Why doesn't he deserve it? Like all over the planet. I read the papers and documents that the media either doesn't read, or only half-reads. This is having two, one to keep and one to tear... The singer comes, is paid by the Municipality, comes and plants a tree. Is this corruption? Since the municipality gave the money, where should it not plant trees?", emphasized Rama./ CNA.al
