The opposition demands Rama's resignation and a technical government/
Grigels Muçollari

DP Presidency member Grigels Muçollari, in an interview with CNA, stated that the opposition protest has a non-negotiable demand, the removal of the prime minister, the creation of a caretaker government, and the holding of free and early elections.

Muçollari emphasizes that the opposition is fulfilling its constitutional duty towards a regime that has seized the state through corruption.

He underlines that this protest aims to restore free voting as an instrument of change for a government that serves the citizens and Albania.

"The protest called by the opposition is part of a movement or more precisely a season of protests with a main non-negotiable demand: the removal of the prime minister, the creation of a technical government and the holding of free and early elections. The opposition is fulfilling its constitutional and moral duty to have a direct reaction to a regime that has seized the state through corruption, has deformed the will of the citizens and has eliminated the possibility of a real electoral competition. Towards an economy that is increasingly supported by drug trafficking and government corruption. Today we are dealing with the poorest who are on the verge of survival, the middle class cannot afford their living and housing, while the government protects the accused from justice. This protest aims to restore the free vote as an instrument of change for a government that functions for the citizens and Albania", said Muçollari.

Regarding the organization, Muçollari revealed that the DP structures are committed to a peaceful protest but citizens will not stop expressing their revolt.

According to Muçollari, the message is very clear: the resignation of the prime minister and without a technical government, there are no free elections and no functional democracy.

"A peaceful protest has been called by the opposition. The structures of the Democratic Party are committed to a peaceful protest but without the slightest discussion that we will not stop citizens from expressing their revolt and anger towards an arrogant government that has corruption as its governing motto and has money laundering as its economic model, making the country increasingly unlivable for honest people. The message is political and clear. Resignation of the Prime Minister, without a technical government there are no free elections and without free elections there is no functional democracy", said Muçollari.

Among other things, Muçollari added that parliament has become a lever that does not allow justice to investigate government corruption.

"The protest cannot have a script as it is up to the citizens to do it, but the opposition's goal is to exert continuous public pressure for the resignation of the prime minister and the establishment of a caretaker government to lead the country to early and fair elections."

The current parliament is defactored and no longer exercises control over the executive, it is simply a lever that does not allow justice to investigate government corruption, so the political solution cannot come from within this system, captured on the day it was created through the manipulation of elections and the deformation of the will of Albanians. The protests will be part of an uninterrupted opposition action until the goal is achieved", declared Muçollari./ CNA
