One night in the cell, Salianji requested the courts to postpone going to prison

On Friday, as Ervin Salianji spent his last hours of freedom at the headquarters of the Democratic Party, the legal team that defends him started efforts to keep the democratic deputy out of the cell.

Before Salianji went to the Police Directorate of the capital to voluntarily execute the decision of the Appeal, his lawyers filed in the Court of Tirana a request for postponement of the execution of the decision.

In the request, the lawyers claimed that the implementation of the decision would bring very serious consequences for Ervin Salianji, due to his special qualities as a member of parliament. The immediate execution of the Appeal decision, it was emphasized in the request, brings the end of his mandate as well as prevents him from running in the parliamentary elections of 2025, where Salianji has been appointed political leader of the Democratic Party for Elbasan district.
