The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has described the imprisonment of Ervin Salijani on the charge of false reporting on the "Babale" file as an act of war.

Berisha said in a press conference that PD will respond to this act of war with resistance and the strongest civil disobedience.

He said that PD and its supporters will give the most deserved answer to Prime Minister Edi Rama and former minister Fatmir Xhafaj and will overthrow the government.

"The imprisonment of Ervin Salianji was an act of war against us, but it was not the first act of war.  

Edi Rama declared this war in time, since he grabbed the DP flag, put the leader of this party under 'house arrest', without any facts, basis, document. He arrested the winning candidate of Himara Municipality and stole his mandate, the representative of the opposition.

He prosecuted other leaders, or public persecution, Ilir Meta, Fatmir Mediun. So this is the last act with which Edi Rama declares war on the opposition.

I am here today in front of you to declare that PD will respond to this act of war with the most powerful civil resistance, with the most powerful civil disobedience, that this party neither goes underground nor avoids electoral processes.

But this party will use all the courage, determination, bravery of its thousands and thousands of members and supporters, in order to give the most deserved answer to the Rama-Xhafaj mafia, in order to achieve what seems to be at first it seems mission impossible.

But as a party of great and impossible missions, nothing is impossible for the Democrats today. It will accomplish the overthrow of this drug and crime stronghold of the mafia brotherhoods, Rama, Xhafaj, etc., and will open the way for Albanians to free elections in a technical government. It will return Albania to its development and integration processes.

Today, or never, democrats, you are invited to dedicate yourself with everything to this decisive battle for the fate of the DP. Decisive for the fate of the opposition and pluralism.
