"In 2026, the minimum wage will be 500 euros"/ Ibrahimaj: The

Minister Delina Ibrahimaj, in her speech in the Parliament where she presented the budget items for 2026, stated that by 2030 the aim is for the minimum wage to reach 800 euros, while during 2026 it will reach 500 euros.

Ibrahimaj said that the government will not add to the burden on business and will subsidize social security for the increase in the minimum wage.

The Minister stated that the government's next step will be to align standards with those of the European Union through increasing domestic production and raising these standards.

" For 2028, we aim for the minimum wage to reach 500 euros and by 2030, 800 euros. The minimum wage is linked to poverty reduction.

Through this budget, we have taken care to ensure that there is no increase in costs for businesses, so 1 billion lek has been allocated for insurance subsidies.

The next step is approximation with European Union standards and we have two main pillars:

To increase domestic production;

To achieve standards. These standards will be achieved through cooperation with the World Bank.

"The budget foresees a lot to promote the competitiveness of start-ups and we want to be part of the EU and compete as equals within this mandate ," said the minister./ CNA
