"The majority is trying to avoid the debate"/ Bardhi responds to

The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, in a conference from the Presidency of the Assembly, responded to his socialist counterpart Taulant Balla, who stated that the opposition had sent a motion not according to the regulations and that it had requested the resolution to clear its political biography.

Bardhi said that the majority is trying to avoid the debate and turn the Assembly into a speechless institution like his parliamentary group. The MP stated that the opposition will use every opportunity to present the demand for both the integrity of the cabinet and the governing program.

"The stupid alibi that the opposition did not want a debate and the decision today showed who they are.

It is unthinkable for any Parliament that the majority would avoid debate and have neither a program nor achievements to present to the Assembly. Edi Rama wants to turn Albania from a parliamentary republic into a prime ministerial republic, he wants to turn the parliament into an Assembly without a voice like his representatives in the parliament.

The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group will use every opportunity, both for the integrity of the cabinet members and the program that has the most gaffes.

"The motion is mandatory, the Conference of Speakers does not set the date, this is done to avoid debate. The Assembly's task is not to raise dumb cards,"  said Bardhi.

Bardhi also responded to Balla on the issue of the resolution, saying that the Kosovo Assembly has approved the resolution on the Serbian genocide and President Osmani has asked the Albanian Assembly to approve the resolution. Bardhi said that in 2017 when Kosovo approved this resolution, the opposition was not in Parliament, but upon its return in 2021, it submitted the request.

"The Kosovo Assembly has approved a resolution on the Serbian Genocide, our representatives were not in the Assembly at the time.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani then stated that Albania has always been on the sidelines, that Kosovo still does not have a seat in a large part of international organizations. We ask the Albanian Parliament to adopt a resolution.

"As soon as our group returned to the Assembly in 2021, we presented the resolution. We presented 3 such resolutions where the Assembly should condemn the Serbian genocide," declared the chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group.

Bardhi addressed a public question to Prime Minister Edi Rama:

"Why does the majority refuse to join Kosovo in condemning the Serbian genocide? This would also be helpful in the case of the former KLA leaders."

"We will not give up on this request either, we will stand by the citizens of Kosovo," said Bardhi./ CNA
