Fourth EU-Albania Conference/ Rama: For us, membership is an existential choice

The fourth EU-Albania conference was held today, to open the third group chapter. Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke at a joint press conference with Rados?aw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland (which holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU), and Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement.

In his speech, Rama expressed his gratitude to the Polish presidency and the EU member states. Further, the Prime Minister once again expressed Albania's determination to achieve the goal of EU membership.

" Thank you very much for the Polish presidency. We are grateful to the EU member states for their support in making this happen. It is surprising to us, given where we come from, that we have been fighting for so long and for so long."

Under the leadership of Marta Kos, we have agreed on a very ambitious agenda. We are looking forward to the group chapters not only being opened but also being closed by 2027. We are here to confirm our full determination to achieve this goal. For Albania, EU membership is an existential life choice. From a place where we have never been allowed to choose for centuries and generations to a future that we have always wanted , "said Rama./ CNA
