The National Council of the Democratic Party of Vula decided this Thursday evening to cancel the July 29 elections for the new leader.

An immediate reaction came from Lulzim Basha, the candidate for the head of the Democratic Party, who published on social networks some photos from the meetings for the electoral campaign.

Basha "insists" that Saturday's elections will be held. He declares that PD is not the property of any individual, but a joint investment of the democrats.

On Saturday, July 29, the Democrats will express their will in one of the most important moments for the Democratic Party. They will vote not only for the president, but to start a new journey of organization, revival and transformation of the DP into the alternative that Albanians want and expect.

During these weeks I have met and talked with many democrats, we have talked openly without any restrictions about everything we have been through these times and how we should rebuild the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party is not the property of any individual, but a joint investment of the Democrats, who have protected it in difficult days and after every challenge managed to make it even stronger. I am convinced that this will happen again, because this is what most Albanians expect from us.

Although we have been faced with an incessant aggression, we have not been defeated, nor surrendered, but we have remained and remain determined for our causes and more aware than ever of the values ??that unite us and the mission that calls us.

What is important for today and the future of DP is the unwavering stance for the national interest and the Euro-Atlantic standards of democracy, equality before the law and fair competition in politics, economy and everywhere.

In a new and clean connection with the historical right, with free and democratic people who were the first line of communist persecution, with contributors after the 90s, with all party members, citizens, intellectuals, women and young people , entrepreneurs, farmers and interest groups, we will build the best alternative to the Democratic Party and the Albanian right.

The Civic Alliance for Democracy will be our coalition to free the economy and advance the constitutional changes that will undo those of 2008, enabling:

Open lists;

Limitation of mandates;

Diaspora vote;

Vetting in politics.

There is no other way for Albania and the Albanians except what is dictated by the uncompromising fight against corruption and the cleansing of politics from all those who have abused the trust of the citizens, serving corrupt and clientelistic interests.

Albania has vital changes in the political system that enable the control and balance of powers, transparency and accountability to the public.

For this reason:

We must change the wording of the Motion of confidence and that of no confidence;

The number of ministries and the increase of the Public Debt should be made by law by the Parliament;

Removing political control over administration employees, giving them job security;

The direct election of the President by the people, as the bearer and balancer of power.

The Democratic Party will offer Albanians a model that embodies the new political culture built on the acts and deeds of centrists, men and women, young men and women who resolutely defended the values ??and principles that are the foundation of our political strength.

Today this is a new mission, the most important since the creation of this party. With great hope and compassion for the fate of every Albanian, with faith in God, let's start this journey together for Albania!/ CNA.al
