Two days before the elections, Gazment Bardhi convenes the National Council

The DP of the stamp is sealed as is. While they are only 4 days away from the elections for the new head, it seems that the clashes between them have not ended.

After the seal was stolen, the General Secretary, Gazment Bardhi, called the National Council to a meeting.

The meeting will be held on Thursday at 19:00 online. A day ago, 7 deputies asked Bardhi to exercise the powers assigned to him by the statute.

The latter accepted the request, noting that he would soon call a meeting of the National Council.

In their request, the 7 deputies objected to the July 29 elections.

In the letter addressed to Bardhi, the 7 MPs, Lefter Gështenja, Bledion Nallbati, Ramadan Likaj, Dashnor Sula, Xelal Mziu, Helidon Bushati and Saimir Korreshi, state that the deepening of the division will definitively damage the DP and that the strengthening of the party is the only objective that should bring everyone together.

They emphasize that the vast majority of DP members are tired of the internal conflict and seek solutions from their representatives, because the division is strengthening the corrupt regime of Edi Rama;

Considering these facts, they have taken the initiative to individually contact and assess the will of each legitimate member of the National Council, as the highest governing body of the party in the period between the two Assemblies.

It is further written that from the contact and evaluation of the will of the members of the National Council according to the list of members of the National Council of the Democratic Party deposited and registered in the Office of the Registry of Political Parties near the Court of First Instance in Tirana and confirmed by officials from the responsible statutory bodies, it resulted that 276 members of the National Council out of 453 members in office, some of them were excluded without a decision from the meeting of the National Council, were recognized but had not participated in the meeting or were in the meeting but they did not consider it legitimate, not agreeing with "decision-making without a quorum".
