SP candidate for Saranda, Oltion Çaçi

Oltion Çaçi spoke today about his candidacy for the municipality of Saranda under the SP logo. Çaçi said that his name was proposed to Prime Minister Edi Rama by the political leader of Vlora district, Blendi Klosi.

" I had never seen it as my challenge, but in fact, being an important tourism actor, I built a model in my head of how a mayor should be to help tourism. And when they proposed this challenge to me, I was very familiar with it. Almost as if I had thought of it myself, even though it was a proposal discussed between the political leader of the District, Blendi Klos, and Prime Minister Rama.

I want to say that I was neither insecure nor surprised. I am very familiar with the relationship between a mayor and a tourism operator. I have been on one side until today, now I will be on the other side in front of my colleagues, having the advantage that I know their every problem without opening my mouth ", he said about Tema.

The SP candidate said that if he wins the elections, he will start his work from tourism, as he emphasized that tourism in Saranda is an international passport for tourism in Albania.

" This city is a symbol of Albanian tourism. Whatever Saranda is like, it will be the future of tourism and we cannot give up. Saranda is the capital of foreign tourism in Albania, it is the place where foreigners come uninvited and live in the city more than the Albanians who leave it in winter. From the way we do tourism in Saranda, we reflect how tourism can be done in Albania. Tourism in Saranda is an international passport for tourism in Albania. 

And it's not like we're a great example. There are still many problems. The two main ones are the short season and the city's insufficient infrastructure to handle the maximum influx of tourism. Both are urgent priorities. Extending the season is my personal challenge. Leave this to me and hold me accountable in four years. It's something I know how to do, I've tried it" , said Çaçi./ CNA.al
