"Albanians are leaving, foreigners are coming"/ Teliti: Political

The Advisor for Economic Affairs at the Democratic Party, Dorjan Teliti, reacted today regarding the figures of Albanian and foreign workers in the services sector.

Through a post on social media, Teliti states that while thousands of foreign workers are coming to the country, thousands of Albanians are leaving Albania.

Teliti adds that this contrast serves as an alarm signal for the country's socio-economic policies, which are harming the workforce and young people.

"Albanians leave and foreigners come: a political failure with a high social cost.
This summer unfortunately marked a tourist failure with a turnover 30-40% lower than the previous year. But, among the disappointing figures, a bitter reality stands out more: hundreds and thousands of foreign workers are taking jobs in hotels, bars and restaurants, while thousands of Albanians are leaving the country. This contrast is not accidental, but an alarming signal of the socio-economic policies that are condemning our youth to emigration.
The capitulation of the manufacturing and agricultural sectors has made our economy totally dependent on imports, making it unable to compete. This is not simply an economic crisis, but a direct consequence of an economic model that has failed to give hope and dignity to its citizens.
To end this situation, the solution is political and requires courage to put the individual and entrepreneurship at the center, starting with reducing the fiscal burden to encourage small businesses. small and medium-sized enterprises, in creating an environment with fair competition, by stopping favors for a handful of people, to the "aggressive" investment in our people and youth, by giving Albanians the opportunity to work and develop themselves and their country.
It is time for fundamental change, for an Albania that is worked by Albanians and works for all Albanians, not just for a few", - writes Teliti. /CNA
