"Opposition in a grim situation"/ Sula: I had predicted it, the fault

Democratic MP Dashnor Sula commented today regarding the opposition's situation before the start of the new legislature.

In a television appearance, Sula said that the opposition is in a bleak and not at all positive situation today.

Sula said that he had foreseen such a situation, since as he said, Albanian citizens want lists of values, names with contributions, and not a competition for personal interests.

"It is unfortunate in the situation the opposition finds itself in today. It is a grim situation and I see it as bad. I am not someone who hates or has personal things. I have said it many times, it will take a model for citizens to vote. The citizens must come first and then the politician. Such an outcome has been predicted.

I had predicted it in July 2024. I have said that what the DP is doing is political suicide, with the closing of the lists, the system is blocked. Albanian citizens want honorable people at the top, not corrupt ones. It was a list without values, only with appointments, without contributions. Citizens are not stupid, to vote for a political force that has the party for personal interests. This thing must be separated. This is a dirty political game, by Berisha and other representatives of the DP. At the time, Dhurata Çupi and three other deputies, we asked to go on a hunger strike, but they did not want to. It was just a game.

These people have no intention of changing anything. There should have been radical changes, and those who had the highest number of votes should have been at the top. I have my best friends from the North, I have none from the South. But forget my friends from the North and others, who will come to power even after 50 years, if this mentality continues. I don't want any division to be created, but there should be a balance between the party and the government", said Sula./ CNA
