"We will have our own fleet of firefighting aircraft"/ Rama: New measures, monitoring with drones and thermal cameras

Prime Minister Edi Rama, during the ceremony for Public Appreciation to the forces that fought the fires, stated that Albania will soon begin building its own fleet of firefighting aircraft.

Rama also presented new measures that include smarter prevention and forest clearing, the creation of natural corridors, drone monitoring with thermal cameras, and replanting burned areas through technology, as well as investments in integrated control centers for rapid response.

The Prime Minister also responded to criticism from the media, which he called online firefighters, stating that other countries have also requested assistance from other countries for means to extinguish fires, not just Albania.

"It is not something that only Albania does, because it does not have it, but also other countries, since such is the mechanism. Countries unable to cope with this situation with their existing aircraft receive assistance from other countries and exchange equipment," said Rama./ CNA
