The candidate of the "Bashke Fitomje" coalition for Has Municipality, Miftar Dauti, denounced yesterday the two sons of the SP candidate, Halit Mulaj, who, according to him, were distributing aid with their personal van to secure votes.

Invited to "Euronews Albania", the SP candidate denied the news and said that the van with aid was going to the municipality's warehouse to be distributed to families in need for the Night of Qadr.

Mulaj described the accusations made by the opposition as smokescreen and said that this case has nothing to do with vote buying.

"It is true that my son's van was found at the municipal warehouse. But the fact that my son was found there is not the part that accuses him of being caught at the scene. I don't know what scene it is?! Last night was the Night of Qadr and those aids that were being loaded into my son's van were to take those aids and take them to the municipal warehouse. The person in charge in the municipality has a list of families in need, which are given assistance for the Night of Qadr, as is done every year. It's one thing that bothers me about the fuss being made about nothing. It is a smokescreen that is allegedly becoming a vote-buying scandal. My son's van was not stopped on the road by this gentleman, it was parked in the city itself ," he said./Euronews Albania.
