The former Speaker of the Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, has spoken about the departure of Albanians from the country.

During an interview, Topalli stated that in the last 8 years, about 800,000 Albanians have left, most of them young.

According to the former speaker, if this bad governance continues, the Albanians will disappear, so it must be stopped.

 "In the last 8 years alone, we have 800,000 Albanians, most of them young, who have left Albania. A place where youth flees is a place without prospects. We will accept to disappear because we are disappearing, if we do not accept that we are disappearing, we have a big problem with ourselves and this must be stopped, something big and strong must be done, it is called change and this change must start now", she emphasized.

Among other things, Topalli discussed the elections of May 14, where he said that in these elections, the mayor Erion Veliaj will face a real opposition.

"Erion Veliaj has never been voted to prove himself in the race, in 2019 he got it without any competition because Lulzim Basha gave it to him, four years ago he had Lulzim Basha's alliance again, despite the fact that he produced very good candidates at that time, the doctor, doctor Kosovo, but Lulzim Basha had a relationship and continues to have a very special relationship with Veliaj. "Veliaj has never proven himself with a real political candidate, with a real opposition that puts out a candidate and claims to take over the municipality," she said./ CNA.al
