"The farce of May 11 will only collapse when the model that Rama has built

Democratic Party Leader Sali Berisha held a meeting this afternoon with members of the German parliament.

At this meeting at the DP headquarters, Berisha announced that the main issue of discussion with the members of the Bundestag was the farce of the May 11 elections.

According to Berisha, the farce will only collapse when the model that Edi Rama has set up changes.  

“It was a pleasure to welcome in a meeting the German MPs, Tilman Kuban, member of the Committee on EU Affairs - and Spokesperson for European Affairs of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag - as well as Dr. David Preisendanz, member of the Committee on EU Affairs.

Their visit to Tirana is a testament to the great attention of the German Government and Chancellor Merz towards European enlargement towards Albania and the Western Balkans. The fact-finding missions of the Bundestag, in the region and in Albania, have, in my opinion, been welcome and very useful.

During the meeting, we exchanged details about the electoral farce of May 11, 2025, the use of all state resources by the government in the campaign, bringing back the old days of the party-state.

I described to two distinguished German MPs the authoritarian model of the regime, and how Edi Rama has built the first and only narco-state in Europe, since he came to power in 2013. The Albanian cartels have already managed to turn, thanks to him, into the main organizations controlling trafficking from Latin America and the East, to the main ports of Europe. A criminalized and corrupt reality is based on the massive exodus of Albanians, who are impoverished day by day in order to strengthen Rama's narco-state.

Without changing this model, Albania will never be able to hold free and fair elections.

"In conclusion, I welcomed the opportunity to organize a fact-finding mission by the German Bundestag, recalling that the findings and documents of the German Parliament on Albania in past years have always been extremely accurate and a solid basis for even more substantial reports," Berisha emphasized./CNA
