"The door to integration is open"/ Rama: Vote for Albania in the EU

Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Shkodra today, where he held an election meeting. In his speech, Rama gave ample space to the issue of Albania's European integration.

Rama said that this is the moment to focus on integration, as the EU does not always keep the door open.

Rama stated that the 27 countries of the European Union have now all agreed on this development.

Rama said that the reason a fourth term is needed is the fact that now is the right time for integration and called for mobilization so that on May 11th Albania can also vote for EU membership.

"This is the moment. And keep in mind that the EU does not always keep the door open. This is the first time since 1990 that the door has been open. They do not say in the usual sentences that one day we will be in the EU. They have put negotiations on the table to close them in 2027.

But why weren't 3 mandates enough? This is the history of Europe and the EU. If it were my history or the SP's, Montenegro and Serbia would have opened negotiations earlier, or Macedonia would have even changed its name.

To be part of it, they have to want it and open the door for you. It's a rich house with 27 members. The door doesn't open unless all 27 countries agree. And you know very well that for 3-4 years the door wasn't opened for us by the Netherlands.

"Today, 27 countries have agreed. We will do everything in our power and mobilize as much as possible so that on May 11 we can gain the strength to close the negotiations," Rama said./CNA
