"More women and girls for change in politics"/ Rama: The Socialist

Prime Minister Edi Rama is continuing his campaign tour today and this afternoon stopped in the city of Shkodra. In his speech, Rama emphasized the many changes in the participation of women and girls in politics.

Rama considered the increase in gender quotas an achievement, which he said brings change to the political community.

Rama said that if mistakes have been made in politics in the past, it has happened because women have not been as active in decision-making.

Rama added that this change is also reflected within the Socialist Party, which he called the largest party of Albanians.

"Today this hall is very meaningful because in these years we have managed to make a change together for our community, which is to establish a balance between men and women. A balance that has been completely lacking. If Albania previously suffered from many wrong decisions, it was because the voice of women was missing. How true this is, that even those women who ascended to the political scene felt lonely and were forced to behave like men. With the SP then having 12% registered girls and women, today we have 40% women and girls. Today you are 39 thousand, but we should not stop this party, which is the largest political party of Albanians, from being 50 thousand. Today, not only are half of the list women and girls, but half of the safe list are women and girls. We are the party that has by far the largest number of women deputies, because the majority of the closed lists are women and girls," said Rama. /CNA
