Priorities for education/ Manastirliu: Training and programs for teachers,

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, held a meeting today with teachers of the “Ibrahim Brahja” school in Sauk, where she shared the ministry’s priorities for the support and professional development of teachers.
Speaking about the new qualification scheme, Minister Manastirliu emphasized that it guarantees free training for teachers in all subjects.

"The Ministry of Education itself, through ASCAP, is committed to implementing training or continuing education programs for teachers in all subjects through public universities and training by public university professors. Meanwhile, we are preparing for 2026–2027 to expand even more personalized training," said Manastirliu.

The Minister emphasized that improving laboratory infrastructure also requires in-depth preparation for science teachers.

"Today we see that improving infrastructure, especially laboratory infrastructure, requires that teachers, especially those in natural sciences, also receive university training on aspects related to chemistry or physics laboratory programs. Therefore, we are very committed to creating special modules personalized according to the needs of groups of teachers in different classes and different cycles, in order to increase the skills and competencies of teachers in different subjects," said Manastirliu.

Regarding economic support for teachers, Minister Manastirliu recalled the historic increase in salaries and warned that this support will continue.

"The support for teachers, which was implemented in July 2024 with the historic increase in salaries, will continue. We will also have a complete reorganization of extracurricular learning, because we want to include extracurricular programs, in order to make it easier for parents, but above all to have a greater guarantee for the education of children in these programs," said Manastirliu.

The Minister also announced the continuation of the zero-interest loan support policies for teachers' housing.

"We have opened another call for this year to support teachers again and we will be able to continue in the future with the facilitated loan program for the purchase of the first apartment for teachers," concluded Manastirliu./CNA
