Deputy Prime Minister, Belinda Balluku, together with the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, accompanied by the Mayor of Divjaka, Josif Gorrea, closely followed the launch of the process.

Minister Koçiu explained details about this process, which extends not only along the coastline, but also in urban areas.

"This is an annual process carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Public Health and local healthcare units. There are approximately 100 employees, staff of the IPH and local healthcare units, who are spread out on the ground in an area of ??230 hectares. All areas and those considered hot spots in terms of mosquito larvae have been identified," said Koçiu.

For her part, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku said that it is important that this process is being carried out at the right time, according to a defined calendar and without interruption, emphasizing that this process serves the residents of the area, but also the visitors, whose number is increasing year after year.

"I am sure that year after year the results will always be better. Here you have to keep in mind that the situation at some point is really worrying for the residents, so this process is highly appreciated in the Divjaka area and in other coastal areas of the Fier district, perhaps more than anywhere else, because it is not just for the tourists that it is very important and we know that all those countries that have developed tourism have had this process for a long time, but on the other hand here it is also for the well-being of the residents", said Balluku.
