Complaints about sending envelopes abroad without ballots/ AKEP demands

The Chairman of the Steering Council of the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority, Gentian Sala, has addressed a request for information to the CEC and DHL.

The Electronic and Postal Communications Authority, based on the complaints received and due to the high interest in the process of distributing international postal items for the 2025 parliamentary elections, which includes not only the CEC but also Albanian citizens in the role of the receiving party and at the same time the sending party of these international postal items, has requested from the CEC and DHL a copy of the contract concluded between the two institutions and to be informed of any problems encountered during the implementation of the contract for these postal items.

"The Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP), based on the provisions of Law No. 46/2015 "On Postal Services in the Republic of Albania", is the supervisory body of the postal services sector in the Republic of Albania and monitors the implementation of legal and sub-legal obligations by any entity that provides postal services, including the handling of complaints from users of these services in the role of the sending party and/or receiving party of postal facilities.

Based on the complaints forwarded to AKEP and due to the high interest in the process of distributing international postal items for the 2025 parliamentary elections, which includes not only the CEC but also Albanian citizens in the role of the receiving party and at the same time the sending party of these international postal items, in order for AKEP to exercise its powers in protecting the interests of users, we request from you:

Depositing a copy of the contract concluded between the CEC and DHL, as well as

"Please inform us of any problems encountered during the implementation of the contract for these postal facilities," AKEP's request states./ CNA
