The world towards war or towards peace?/ Bushati: The global order no longer

Former Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati conducted an interview tonight on the "Now" show with Erla Mëhilli. Bushati spoke about the situation the world is in and whether it is heading towards war or peace.

The former minister said that the situation the world is in is very difficult to make predictions, but said that some developments are very dramatic for the times we live in.

The former minister declared that the global order no longer exists and a new order is being created. This new order, Bushati said, should worry Albanians since we are beneficiaries of the international order.

The former minister stated that without global order there would be neither an independent Kosovo nor perhaps the collapse of communism in Europe.

 

" It is very difficult to make predictions. We have some developments that can be considered dramatic for the time we live in. Three years ago we believed that the war in Ukraine was something unprecedented, when I worked in the Middle East I realized that it was simply a European concern. What we considered as the global order no longer exists. We are in an amorphous situation, where a new order is being created, but we do not know what this order is. We Albanians should be very concerned. We are the beneficiaries of the international order, based on fundamental rights and international freedoms. Without this kind of order and without American intervention we would not have an independent Kosovo, we would not have Albania in NATO, perhaps we would not have the collapse of communism in Europe. We must be very careful to maintain a balance between our national interest and the international law that is being developed, " Bushati said./ CNA
