Boçi: The dictatorship of the '90s, similar to today's

Democratic Party MP, Luciano Boçi, spoke this evening regarding the student movement of 1990. In a television appearance, Boçi said that the dictatorship of that time is not much different from today's government. According to him, today's government can be described as an autocracy.

"The challenges are similar to each other, if we had a classic dictatorship before the '90s, today it has a more modern, more stylized appearance. But in its essence they do not change at all. A generation that has been created during these years cannot make a difference, while we who have lived through both do not express these positions in vain. It is not political rhetoric, but deep concern. We can call this today's autocracy. When we talk about autocracy, we talk about the autocracy of the political system. What happens within a party is related to the way political parties are run. Let's not forget that we are in an opposition party, which is a very important element of democracy. We are in a party whose main basis is the election and not like the party in power," said the MP.

During his speech, Boçi also spoke about Ervin Salianj's movements and meetings.

"When its authors, the movement, have not configured it as a movement, others rush it to the maximum at a certain speed. What it is is determined by those who initiate it," said Boçi. /CNA
