The political leader of the Socialist Party for the Tirana region, Belind Këlliçi, has shared moments from the meeting with the residents of "May 5" on social media.

Këlliçi writes that for the residents of this area affected by the Great Ring Road project, the Democratic Party will carry out expropriation according to market value, will carry out an accelerated process for the legalization of housing, and will review the project to avoid unnecessary demolitions.

DEMOCRATIC PARTY PLAN FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY THE ROAD SEGMENT PROJECT “Tirana Ring Road Sheshi Shqiponja – New Boulevard, Shkozë”

By guaranteeing the rights and dignity of every citizen affected by the project, the Democratic Party is committed to the following:

1. Fair expropriation and at fair market value

o All owners whose homes have been demolished will be expropriated based on the real market value of the area (prepayment).

o In cases where residents decide to participate in the new housing project, they will be treated as co-owners in the new constructions. (at the location where the construction will take place)

2. Treatment with suitable rental bonus

o As long as families are forced to live in rent, the rental bonus will be adjusted to the real market value in the relevant area.

o No individual or family will suffer financial loss or jeopardize their standard of living.

3. Project review to avoid unnecessary disruptions

o The project will be reviewed to ensure that no legal and habitable dwelling is demolished without reason.

o For facilities that do not affect the urban development of the area, other alternatives will be envisaged for their integration into the development plan.

4. Accelerated legalization of housing

o For all apartments that are in the process of legalization or unlegalized, quick steps will be taken to complete the legalization process.

o Residents will not be penalized for bureaucratic delays of institutions.

5. Involving residents in decision-making

o No changes to the project will be made without listening to and involving the affected community.

o An open communication platform with residents will be created to guarantee transparency and fair solutions.

6. Legal protection of private property

o A law on the protection of private property will be adopted, which will ensure that no one is expropriated without fair and immediate compensation.

o The practice of partial expropriations or delayed payments by state institutions will be prohibited.
