A fierce "war" is taking place in the Municipality of Tirana, following the action of Mayor Erion Veliaj, who, through a letter with protocol number 11273, has temporarily appointed Sara Goxhaj to the position of Mayor of Tirana.

Immediately after being made aware of this fact, the prime minister unexpectedly went to the municipal institution where he ordered the dismissal of Sara Goxhaj and also had discussions with Alban Dokushi, the legal director of the municipality, to whom he expressed his position: "Leave, you have no business here anymore."

So who is Alban Dokushi?

Alban Dokushi is one of the people close to Veliaj, the mayor's confidant, who was targeted by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Alban Dokushi previously held the position of advisor to the Supreme Court. In March 2014, as reported in the media, he was assassinated at the door of his son's kindergarten in the former Blloku area.

At the time, there were a number of versions about the motives for the incident, one of which was that he was involved in the incident due to his position as an advisor to the Supreme Court.

Dokushi served as legal advisor to judge Edmond Islamaj.

Finally, just two days ago, on March 18, Dokushi was summoned to the Special Prosecutor's Office to provide explanations in the context of the investigations that the anti-corruption structure is conducting against Mayor Erion Veliaj and his wife Ajola Xoxa.

Dokushi is one of the municipal officials who publicly admitted to having held meetings with Veliaj in the Durrës detention center.

"I met with the prosecutor's authorization," said Dokushi.

His call came after wiretaps conducted by SPAK on Erion Veliaj, which revealed how Veliaj was ordering from prison how to exert pressure and attack prosecutors and judges./ CNA
