The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku closely followed the progress of the works, accompanied by the Director of the Albanian Road Authority, Gentian Gjyli and the Mayor of Dira, Rahim Spahiu.

Balluku announced that now the travel time between Tirana and Peshkopi will be even shorter.

According to her, with the new intervention, the road from Peshkopia to Tirana will last only an hour and a half.

"With the completion of this road, I believe that a very big impasse related to access is solved once and for all, but despite the fact that they were happy at the beginning that the road from 6 hours became 2 hours and a little bit, now we will have possibility to go from Peshkopia to Tirana for an hour and a half", said Balluku.

Works on the construction of the Ura e Cereneci - Peshkopi road segment have progressed significantly. This segment completes Arbri Road, shortening the distance between Dibra and Tirana. In the first two kilometers of this work, the laying of the first asphalt layers has started, while the work is continuing in the rest of it. Through this intervention, the distance is shortened by nearly 2.5 kilometers, compared to the existing road, Maqellare-Peshkopi./ CNA
