"10 protected areas are being opened for construction"/ Zhupa warns of
Ina Zhupa

In a reaction on social networks, democratic deputy Ina Zhupa denounces that 10 protected areas are being opened for construction. She says that in September she will file a complaint with the Constitutional Court about the Law on Protected Areas.

Deputy Zhupa underlines that now the body that decides on constructions in protected areas is the same that decides on unprotected ones, a political body under Rama's direction is KKRT (National Council for Territorial Regulation).

Full reaction:

The next victim to be destroyed are 10 protected areas, prepared by the Ministry of "Construction" Mirela Kumbaro.

These days, 10 draft decisions that pave the way for construction in protected areas have been submitted to public consultation thanks to the scandalous law passed by the assembly. Kumbaro guarantees her place as a long-term minister of the Rama government precisely by serving as a kamikaze in violation of conventions, the constitution and the public interest.

These areas lose their inviolability and the system of internal zoning according to international regulations and the old law and easily pass to constructions where the deciding authority is KKRT. The degree of protection decreases for each of them.

KKRT is the body that gives permits for the towers of Tirana and for resorts and strategic investments, entirely political and directed by Rama and his ministers and directors, who will now decide where the "small points" will be in these protected areas .

The areas that start as a sacrifice for the appetites of the government's clients and that have draft decisions ready are:
1-Bredhi i Drenova
2-Rrushkull
3-Bune Velipojë
4-Pishë-Poro-Nartë
5-Pogradec Lake
6-Kuturman-Qafë Bush
7 - Kratse
8-Guri i Nika Valamare
9- Bjeshket e Oroshi
10-BishtKamëz.

I strongly oppose these actions that confirm what we said when the law was approved that the goal is precisely the use of protected areas with a focus on construction and will be their final destruction.

The first lawsuit in the Constitutional Court in September will be the one against the unilateral and destructive changes to the Protected Areas law.

The battle will continue until the end in defense of the public interest, the legacy for future generations and the constitution. /CNA
