Balla puts the police at the service of Veliaj

The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has put the police at the service of Erion Veliaj, the mayor of Tirana who is at the head of the Municipality of Tirana.

Balla declared in a press conference that he will not spare the citizens protesting against Veliaj and his directors.

He even asked the prosecutor's office to punish the protesters severely, stressing that the institution of the municipality must be respected.

"I say it often and I have to repeat it, violence against institutions and above all violence against State Police employees is unacceptable. Any act of violence against institutions, and above all violence against State Police employees, is severely punished and I ask the prosecutor's office to prosecute all cases and give a severe punishment to anyone. In this perspective, this faction of the opposition must understand that the time when institutions were attacked is over and the law must be respected", underlined the minister./ CNA
