The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who was questioned yesterday by the SPAK regarding the affairs in the Municipality of Tirana, today pleaded with the Special Prosecutor's Office.

During a meeting with employees of the Municipality of Tirana, Veliaj asked SPAK not to arrest him until he finishes his term as mayor.

Veliaj emphasized that this is his last mandate at the head of the Municipality of Tirana.

"I will end this last mandate of mine with 2 million trees for the city of Tirana and whoever wants to come and count them, but who is a man and who is a lady does not deal with counting and cursing people, but takes the shovel and takes the seedling, plants it and says I gave my contribution to Tirana", emphasized Veliaj.

Thus, the mayor of Tirana is begging SPAK not to sink it and to leave it for some time.

This is because after the interrogation, Veliaj is expected to be charged after many facts and evidence. It is expected that the SPAK will bring charges of "abuse of duty" against Veliaj./ CNA
