Ermal Yzeiraj, the defense lawyer of former minister Ilir Beqaj, accused SPAK and GJKKO, this Saturday afternoon.

The lawyer objected to the "prison arrest" measure being enforced for Beqaj, while he claimed that the Special Prosecutor's Office and the GJKKO do not even believe the accusation itself.

"There is no reason to believe that Mr. Beqaj has the tendency to avoid responsibility. You have seen that we have been present and we have always come to court. There is no reason to see a risk of evidence damage and departure from Albania.

Yzeiraj claimed that SPAK is attacking Beqaj for personal reasons.

"The prosecution body tries to prevent Beqaj from responding to the Commission for Sterilization and Check Up. SPAK has a personal relationship with Beqaj, because the activity of this structure started with the proceedings against him. The arrest was made in order to prevent the reading of the "Sterilization" file by the former minister Ilir Beqaj", emphasized the lawyer./ CNA
