You read the CVs and the education and intellectual background of the "independent" candidates running with the support of the DP and you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

They are people with no connection to politics, no connection to the city, no connection to dignity. Some are unknown to anyone, some are known for the wrong reasons, some are known only because of personal ambition, not for their civic contribution. And then you hear the DP proudly say: "We support civic candidacies!"

In fact, this is the moment when you understand why the opposition neither constitutes an alternative, nor inspires nor can it win. Because the selection of candidates has become a humiliating process for the democrats and the citizens themselves. When you say you want change, but send people to the race who have no connection with the party, and have even been historically against it, who have not changed themselves, let alone the system, you actually insult the citizens and humiliate your ideals. You understand that the selection of these individuals is a clear signal: there is no desire for change, no respect for the city, no sense of public responsibility. The status quo and stagnation must simply be maintained at all costs!

This whole story reminds me of that time when you put your hand in the bag of tomatoes and instead of a tomato you grab a lettuce leaf!

The salads are not bad, they are even delicious, but the salads that the DP has captured this time can neither be made into salads nor tarator.

Instead of presenting candidates with integrity, vision, and connections with citizens, the DP produces a salad, where every name is a compromise, a favor, or an attempt to cover up the gaps in the party structures themselves in the hope that someone will escape the public eye.

The result is known: an opposition lost in its logic, incapable of creating trust and respect and unable to elect the right people, unable to present any real alternative and not only unable to win, but no longer convincing anyone that it represents something serious.

Because when you reach in, grab, and hold the wrong fruit, greens, or vegetable, neither your hand remains clean nor does the product turn out good.

Only shame and political disappointment!
