Who does the "ridiculous candidate" serve?

2025-10-22 17:12:00, Opinione Ardi Stefa

Who does the "ridiculous candidate" serve?

The one who comes out with pathetic speeches, with programs taken from ChatGPT, and with imported enthusiasm? The one who looks like a caricature of democracy, but is an organic part of the system that builds these cultures and maintains and promotes anti-values?

Who does the ridiculous candidate serve, (which in 2025 in Albania is no accident) and who runs for election without any chance, without a program, without integrity; anathematizing all those who are not "with" him?
He serves someone and, usually, he serves more than one party.

The ridiculous candidate is the most beautiful gift that can be given to the government and the system that is barely standing on its feet. It is the mannequin that performs the theater of democracy, the mirror that reflects the degradation of politics, the opposition, the media, and a society that is accustomed to laughing at the ridicule that is made of it, not stopping it.

The ridiculous candidate creates the illusion of pluralism, the idea of ??competition, but never risks the result in favor of the government. And thus kills the hope of change, transparency, and meritocracy and gives the government an alibi to get away with it: "We had pluralism, we had competition!".

The ridiculous candidate is the product of an opposition that will not win, that cannot win, that is afraid of winning, or that is captured by the very power it claims to overthrow.
The ridiculous candidate is the opposition's alibi for not being an opposition.

Instead of supporting a serious figure, with a program and integrity, it brings up a name to "save face" that it knows in advance that it will lose.
It pretends to support him, but in fact leaves the candidate alone in his delirium and, to justify itself, blames the electorate, not itself at all, for the loss: "We brought you a non-political candidate, from civil society and you didn't want him!"
But the electorate today is not naive, it rejects the "change" served up as a political grotesque. The opposition, this absurd theater of grotesque justifications will suffer when it shrinks and wrinkled more and more, because it refuses to change, to correct itself.

The ridiculous candidate serves himself more. For a little attention, for a few appearances on television, to satisfy his ego or future political ambition. Despite his high opinion of himself, the ridiculous candidate is a caricature of ambition. Although the ridiculous candidate knows well that in Albania, where everything is sold cheaply, even the most ridiculous can find buyers.

The ridiculous candidate also serves the media, which for a few clicks, viewers, or interactions treat the candidate as "a wonder that will cause a political earthquake!", but who will be forgotten a week after the elections. Meanwhile, the system that produces the ridiculous candidate remains.

They invite him to the studio for interviews; they make him the protagonist for a day. And... "the village laughs and the world mocks..."

This is how the Albanian political circus works: every joker gets five minutes of fame, which is enough to cover the shame of the major parties, unfortunately today the Albanian opposition.

And while everyone laughs, not out of humor, but out of helplessness, very few ask: "Who wins from all this fuss and fuss? And who really loses?"
