47 years ago, two poets, Vilson Blloshmi and Genc Leka, were shot

Today marks 47 years since poets Vilson Blloshmi and Genc Leka, two stars of freedom, were shot.

Vilson Blloshmi and Genc Leka were born in March and the dictatorship took their lives in July.

They were among the families opposing the communist regime. For this reason, they were involved in an agenturial-operational process of the Security and then investigative-judicial investigation of the court. They were shot because they wanted poetry, they wanted peace, they wanted freedom!

Vilson 29 years old, Genci 36 years old, why did you shoot these Asian barbarians with Albanian names!?

Sahara does not know how to dream.

She grinds stones with her mind...
Sahara has no songs to sing,
Sahara has no tears to cry.
Sahara has no friends,
Sahara has no daughter or son.
The Sahara is a piece of land,
They say that it does not go well with the night

Excerpted from Vilson Blloshmi's poem, entitled "Saharaja", considered as a criminal offense and "agitation and propaganda for the weakening and undermining of popular power.

Those who made the expertise of poetry today are proud of themselves on TV shows as writers, as politicians, the Municipal Council of Thieves of Tirana promotes them to commissions, some unscrupulous moderators who run TV shows put the faces of yesterday's executioners in front of society as if these they are angels, in reality they are executioners who took the lives of the poets of freedom. But shame knows no bounds here!

It's been 34 years since Vilson and Genci gave us the whistle "when will you punish the crimes of the communist executioners", but this human whistle is faced with the silence of the President, the Parliament, the government, the opposition!

Sorry Wilson, Genc, ??your country and ours, Albania has been included by the Sahara! We, the survivors of the dictatorship, pay our respects with flowers every July next to the two large bronze heads that stand side by side in a pool of crystal water on a concrete platform in the central Albanian town of Librazhdi.

The flowers commemorate Genc Leka and Vilson Blloshmi, who were executed by the regime of communist dictator Enver Hoxha more than four decades ago because of the poems they wrote, although they had not been published when they were brought to trial. We intend for their work to live on forever, for the sake of free speech and their poetic spirit.

You, even though you were shot, live in the heart of the people, those who executed you, even though they are physically alive, are dead!/ CNA
