The ceremony took place on the university premises, in the presence of academic and local authorities, professors, students, family members, friends and well-wishers of the writer, who gathered to honor the life and work of a personality who has left deep traces in Albanian culture and education.

This activity was attended by the Vice-Rector of the university Blerina Papajani, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Ardian Lami, as well as the Chairman of the Municipal Council Lutfi Lala, representatives of cultural and educational institutions, as well as many personalities from public life.

In her welcoming speech, Vice-Rector Blerina Papajani emphasized that the title "Honorary Citizen of Elbasan" represents the highest recognition that the city gives to personalities who have contributed exceptionally to its cultural and intellectual development.

She underlined that Astrit Bishqemi was an honorary citizen in every dimension of his life - in modesty, moral integrity and dedication to knowledge, becoming a rare model of the Albanian intellectual.

"This title reflects the greatest gratitude for a personality who, with his life and activity, has honored the city of Elbasan and Albanian culture," she said during the ceremony.

Delivery of the title by the Municipal Council

On behalf of the Municipal Council, Mayor Lutfi Lala presented the title "Honorary Citizen of Elbasan" to Professor Bishqemi's family, appreciating his extraordinary contribution as a scholar of Albanian literature, prominent creator of children's literature, and dedicated pedagogue who has educated entire generations of students.

At this symbolic moment, his family, colleagues and friends shared special memories from the life and work of Professor Bishqemi, emphasizing his role in the development of Albanian literary thought and in the formation of new generations.

Following the ceremony, the Department of Literature and Journalism at the Faculty of Humanities organized a scientific session on the topic "Astrit Bishqemi: Man, Writer, Scholar", held in the main hall of the University of Elbasan "Aleksandër Xhuvani" library.

This academic activity brought to the center of attention the figure and multifaceted contribution of Astrit Bishqemi to Albanian culture and literary studies.

Researchers and lecturers presented papers that analyzed different dimensions of his work, addressing it in three main areas:

• as a scholar and literary critic, and as a pedagogue who has trained entire generations of scholars and teachers of language and literature.
