The well-known actor Zhani Ziçishti was born on May 31, 1940 in the city of Korça and passed away on February 25, 2026.

After completing his higher studies at the Higher Institute of Arts, in 1964 Ziçishti began working as an actor at the “AZ Çajupi” Theater in Korça, until 1994, when he emigrated to Greece. With the troupe of this theater, he performed a number of roles, becoming known to the art-loving public.

Ziçishti has played over 70 roles on the stage of the "Andon Zako Çajupi" theater, many of them main and important.

Along with his generation, he brought a new way of interpretation, where he revealed the truthfulness of acting, naturalness, soft and psychological tones, and the precision of the character's intentions, against the theatricality and singing of the word.

Such qualities became part of the identities he gave to the characters in the pieces "The Dowryless Girl", "The White Siege", "The House in the Alley", "The Literature Teacher", "The Accused City", "Hell's Angels", "The Threepenny Opera", "The Miser", "Othello".
