They exploited children to beg/ Two people are being prosecuted

Two citizens have been criminally prosecuted in Durrës for exploiting their minor children for begging.

Materials for 5 cases of begging between the ages of 21-40 have also been referred to the police.

They exploited their minor children to beg in the beach area, 2 citizens are being prosecuted.

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Plazh Police Station, during continuous patrols, with the aim of guaranteeing public order and safety, as well as preventing and combating illegalities, have found 3 children and 5 adults begging on the street.

For the identified cases, the materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings have been initiated for the criminal offense of "Ill-treatment of a minor" against citizens AB, 54 years old, and EA, 34 years old, as they are suspected of using their minor children to beg in the beach area. 

Also, materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for evaluation, regarding 5 cases of begging by other citizens, aged 21-40.  

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action. 

Durrës Police appeal to parents and citizens not to exploit minors for economic activities inappropriate for their age, as in addition to constituting a punishable illegality under the Criminal Code, this action also damages the child's psycho-emotional health.
