Vucic welcomes Dodik, they discuss global and regional issues

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, received the President of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, on Thursday in Belgrade.

"A very good conversation with the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik. The meeting was dominated by economic topics, but we also made a joint analysis of global and regional issues," Vucic wrote on his Instagram account.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, also participated in the meeting.

"The fight against illegal migration was also a topic. President Dodik and I paid special attention to the infrastructural, road, railway and energy connection between Serbia and the Republika Srpska", added Vucic.

The meeting between the two officials comes a day after US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns stayed in Belgrade. Previously, he also visited Sarajevo.

None of the officials in Serbia or the USA confirmed or denied Burns' visit, while the CIA told Radio Free Europe that "they do not comment on the director's travel schedule."

In Sarajevo, Burns met with colleagues from the intelligence community, with members of the Presidency, as well as with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina./ Rel
