"They have risen up against the government with good reason"/ Berisha:

The President of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, delivered his speech at the meeting of the Parliamentary Group.

Berisha began his speech by participating in the conference of the European People's Parties (EPP), where he said that in Sarajevo he showed his support for the protests held against the government.

He stated that at the conference he also denounced Prime Minister Edi Rama's language towards the protesters. Among other things, he said that this protest was not called by the DP, but that this party stands in support of the protesters' demands.

"Tens of thousands of citizens have risen up against the regime with just demands. The resignation of Edi Rama and the annulment of those laws that violate the Constitution, on the environment, cultural heritage and environmental protection.

I denounced Edi Rama's language towards the protesters. The threats, mockery, insults, and labels he makes to the most powerful youth civic protest the country has ever known. I asked the EPP to exercise their authority so that the deep crisis that has engulfed the country is resolved peacefully with the departure of Edi Rama and the establishment of a technical government for free elections. Albanian citizens must be helped and violence cannot be used against them. I informed the audience that this protest was not called by the DP, but we stand in support of the protesters' demands.

"We support the removal of Edi Rama as a fierce enemy of the Albanian nation, of democracy, integration and the future of Albania. For us democrats, after Enver Hoxha, he is the fiercest enemy of Albanians in history. Edi Rama must leave power, he has no legitimacy. We are proud that we have managed to overthrow his fraud for electoral legitimacy ," Berisha said. /CNA
