The Tate brothers are detained by the authorities in Romania

The controversial figure, Andrew Tate, and his brother, Tristan, were detained for 24 hours after being questioned by anti-corruption prosecutors in Romania.

Prosecutors have launched an investigation into several new allegations against the Tate brothers.

Romanian investigators conducted four raids on August 21 at the properties of two brothers who are awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking, rape, gang formation and sexual exploitation of women.

Romania's anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, said in a statement that the raids were carried out in connection with new charges related to the creation of an organized criminal group, trafficking of minors, sexual acts with minors, statements of influence and money laundering.

Andrew Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan, 36, both former kickboxers with British and American citizenships, have millions of followers on social media. In 2022, they were arrested near Bucharest together with two Romanian women. Last year, authorities formally filed charges against them, which the Tate brothers have denied.

Andrew Tate is known for expressing misogynistic views online and has 9.9 million followers on the X platform. He has repeatedly claimed that prosecutors have no evidence against him and that there is a political conspiracy against him to keep him quiet. Previously, he was banned on several social networking platforms due to his misogynistic views and hate speech.
