As the counting of postal and conditional votes continues in Kosovo, according to the results so far, the distribution of seats won by parties in the December 28 snap parliamentary elections has changed.

Based on votes counted as of 3:30 p.m. on January 6, the Vetëvendosje Movement is expected to have 57 deputies in the tenth legislature of the Kosovo Assembly, which has 120 seats.

Postal and conditional votes appear to have secured another MP for Albin Kurti's LVV, which convincingly won the early elections, receiving over 50 percent of the vote.

Bedri Hamza's Democratic Party of Kosovo is expected to have 23 MPs, as many as it secured with regular votes.

With the current results, Lumir Abdixhiku's Democratic League of Kosovo appears to have lost one MP, as it is expected to have 14 MPs - down from 15 after the regular vote count.

Ramush Haradinaj's Alliance for the Future of Kosovo remains at the same number of MPs, namely six.

Meanwhile, the Serbian List – the Kosovo Serb party that is close to Belgrade – is expected to have nine out of ten seats reserved for the Serb community.

The Central Election Commission has said it expects to announce the final results earlier than planned, namely before January 19.

After the counting of conditional and postal votes is completed, those of people with special needs are also expected to be counted. About 45 percent of the nearly 2 million citizens with the right to vote participated in the December 28 elections. /REL
