Captured after US attack/ Where is Venezuelan President Maduro?

The United States confirmed this Saturday that it carried out attacks inside Venezuela, moments after several explosions were heard in the capital Caracas and other parts of the country.

Footage circulating online showed a plume of smoke and multiple buildings on fire after the explosions. Minutes after the blast, President Nicolas Maduro's office declared a state of emergency in Venezuela.

As the news began to spread, US President Donald Trump said on his social media platform 'Truth Social' that Nicolas Maduro and his wife had been captured and flown out of Venezuela.

But where is former leader Maduro now?

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has said the whereabouts of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores are unknown.

"We do not know the whereabouts of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. We demand immediate proof of the life of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores," Rodriguez said on state television.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was captured early Saturday morning by members of Delta Force, the US Army's elite special operations unit. /CNA
