United States President Donald Trump has posted a message to British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on his account on the Truth Social platform.
Trump said the United Kingdom is finally seriously considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East, but Trump appears to be rejecting the offer.
"The UK, once our Greatest Ally, perhaps the Greatest of all, is finally seriously considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East. That's fine, Prime Minister Starmer, we don't need them anymore - But we will remember. We don't need people joining wars after we've already won ," his post said.
Trump's reaction comes after reports that the United Kingdom is preparing an aircraft carrier for possible deployment to the Middle East.
Accelerating the readiness time for HMS Prince of Wales means the giant ship will be able to respond more quickly if a decision is made to mobilise. /CNA
