First statement since the start of the war in Iran/ President of the United Arab

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has spoken for the first time about the war in Iran since its start.

Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that everything is fine in the country and thanked the armed forces for the "vital role they are playing and for their extraordinary service during the war."

He warned that his country should not be confused with the weak, stressing that the UAE "is not easy prey."

"The United Arab Emirates is attractive; the United Arab Emirates is beautiful, the United Arab Emirates is a model. But don't be fooled by the outward appearance of the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates has thick skin and tough flesh - we are not easy prey ," he said.

The president made the comments during a visit to a hospital where he checked on five people injured in the recent incidents, including two Emirati nationals, an Indian, a Sudanese and an Iranian. 

Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE remains strong thanks to the dedication of its people, noting that citizens have carried out their responsibilities in a manner that has brought them pride and security.

The President concluded by expressing confidence that the UAE will overcome the current challenges and emerge stronger, praying for the continued security and protection of the country and all those living in it. /CNA
